The THIRD EYE smoothie

The third eye is said to be all the senses and the mind working together as parts of a larger more powerful sensory organ.  It is also said to be our ability to see potential.
Like nutrition, our mental state and our crossfit workouts all helping us to reach our potential and make us the best we can be right now aka a walking ‘powerful sensory organ’!

Like all smoothies this one can be created and taken on the road when you need that breakfast or pre-work out sustenance to-go.
In a blender mix the following until you have your third eye smoothie …
1 cup nut milk (or regular or coconut water)
2 eggs (omit for vegan option)+
1/2 an avocado
1 tablespoon nut butter (or coconut oil)
1/2 cup yoghurt (or coconut yoghurt for vegan option)
1 tablespoon date paste (optional depending on your sweet tooth – if you use coconut water it will be plenty sweet enough without this)*
1 teaspoon tumeric
Finely grated rind (optional) and juice of 1/2 lemon
1 teaspoon finely grated ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Add approximately 1 cup water (or coconut water) in stages, or enough to thin down your smoothie to the desired consistency.
+Can use chia egg replacement which for each egg to replace is 3 tablespoons water mixed with 1 tablespoon chia meal (food processor – grind chia seeds to meal), whisk together and let sit for 5 minutes.
*Made by blending 2 part pitted dates: 1 part water – keeps refrigerated for up to 2 weeks so make extra.
Some random bits a info:
Tumeric renowned as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and oh, apparently some studies have shown it to have an effect on par with prozac…
Lemon is great for your immune system, as a source of potassium, helps reduce inflammation and heaps more!
Ginger is a good source of magnesium and zinc which assist in maintaining our blood flow.  Also noted as being a good for anti-inflammation.
Cinnamon – even 1/2 a teaspoon of this, amongst other benefits, claims to boost brain activity and hey, the Egyptians used it to embalm their dead.  Cool.
