Deadlift 5-5-5-5-5
Note: When you see a set rep scheme presented like 5 x 5 it means that you do not increase the load between sets. So, pick a heavy load to start with and finish your work at that same load. If, on the other hand, the notation is 5-5-5-5-5 increase the load between sets aiming for – in this case – your 5RM (five rep max).
Pop quiz: which movement is Boz teaching in the above photo?
A press of some description. Probably strict press as knees aren’t bent, elbows just in front of bar for drive up, feet under hips..
Not clean, elbows aren’t high enough. So its not really a rack position…
Ben:
60kg,80,90,100,110 (PB)
Felt crappy before gym and took a while to warm up, but once I got going i felt good. Very happy to set a new all reps PB. Previous PB was 105kg for 3reps.
Hanna:
40kg, 50, 55, 60(PB for 5reps, mixed grip), 60 (OHand grip + raised weight on plate, 3reps + 2reps)
Happy to get 5 x 60kg, but technique wasn’t great. Did next set with regular grip but the bar was slipping away. Also did the final set with weight slightly elevated on 2.5kg plates to get better technique.
Adam, what do I win? Cocktail?
