Where did it all start?
Previous to CrossFit I had always done some sort of weight training. First just at home and eventually at a local gym. I was first introduced to crossfit about 7 years ago now I think by a friend who was loving it. I remember seeing a video of Fran online and being blown away. I’d never seen or even imagined anything like this. At first I was hesitant to try it because I was not sure if the intensity appealed to me, I ended up giving it a go and quickly became addicted and I haven’t looked back since.
Crossfit appealed to me for two reasons. Firstly because I enjoy the type of improvement it brings to your well being. It’s not just being able to run for longer or develop strength. It’s a more overall physical development and a confidence that you can take on any new physical challenge with a certain level of skill even as a beginner. Secondly, I enjoy progress and with Crossfit it really feels like the bubble never bursts. As long as you keep putting in the work.
Favourite thing about CrossFit?
The Crossfit community is the bomb. Something special happens once people come through that door. We no longer relate to each other by our demographic or occupation but at a real person to person level.
