Weekly ChallengeMax. unbroken HSPUs
24th March 2009
How many handstand push-ups can you do in one unbroken set?

10...
Will work on this through the week. If I could get it up to 12 that would be good. If I can get it to 15 I'll be super happy. Think a couple of days of HSPU ladders, then rest, than try for a max. Got 6 (+2) for a HSPU ladder yesterday, after that everything gave in and even though I had plenty o time I just couldn't push out even a half pushup.

I got 21 last time.
No idea how.
That's the score to beat.

Adam that's just crazy, no way am I going to hit that mark. However, do past glory's count in the weekly challenge?
I think that until your insane 21 is repeated during this week my shallow 10 is still the score to beat. Go on... give it another shot, this time you might hit 25.

21 reps, to start a metcon wod today. There was no 22nd rep there no matter what.
Equalled my PB from a few weeks ago doing Dianne. Bit disappointed that I haven't gained a rep or 2 since then.

Oh, I just saw your post then Adam. If I knew I had to BEAT 21, then who knows, I just may have found a 22nd rep! Damn. Oh well, might give it another crack in a couple of days.

What's the rx for this? I recall last time there was an ab-mat involved...
#7. Posted by Adam Stanecki on March 26, 2009
I'll accept head to the abmat but head to floor trumps all.
My 21 were to the abmat.
They don't count for this round. It's just a goal.

I don't know exactly how thick an ab-mat is, but my 21 were to a folded yoga mat, about 1/2 inch thick

Adam , if you can get 21 straight to the abmat, you don't need the abmat.

#8 - Will, they all count.
#9 - Aaron, too right but once you start you're not stopping for anyone. :o)

A disappointing 3 reps for me...hahaa. All were forehead to floor though!
Given I have only done these when they appear in the WOD, I think it is partly a muscle activation\coordination thing. The other part is a muscle weakness thing :)
Will try this again a bit more regularly, and maybe include them in my warm up!

14...
Sweet. Almost 50% improvement than earlier in the week. The 14th one was hard, very hard, gave it everything. There was no 15 in sight.

Gave this another crack today after my crap effort yesterday.
5 full reps today.
Felt a lot better too...
