Commando Steve’s Book

For those who don’t know, Steve Willis is the owner of the CrossFit affiliate CFX in Kogarah, Sydney. He is also a trainer on “The Biggest Loser” (Commando Steve). On top of all that he also happens to be the fourth fittest human on the planet (after finishing in 4th place in the 2009 CrossFit games) and one of the original members of the Australian certification team.

Steve has just released a book - “No Excuses” which you can buy at most bookstores ($24 @ Borders if you’re quick). It is an interesting read as it chronicles his life up until now (nothing too deep), but also delves into his phsyche and mindset and how he deals with the pain of difficult workouts.

CrossFit gets a massive plug all throughout the book. The last third is dedicated totally to CrossFit with a description of the program and demonstrations of the 9 foundational movements.

I bought a copy yesterday and it is definately worth a read. Unfortunately I am unable to lend my copy as it is actually a present for a friend. If you have any friends who watch “the Biggest Loser” but you can’t get them into CrossFit, this may be all the impetus they need. I would expect that most CrossFit affiliates will see a rise in numbers on the back of the book.

Check it out.

I’ve missed more than 9000 shots. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over again. Thats why I succeed!

Steve is an awesome bloke.
However, I am far prettier! :o)

If anyone buys the book, I’d love to read it.

FYI - Steve is also featured in Men’s Health this month.

Adam, you can borrow my copy (when I’m finished, by Monday 22/03), and the article is in Australian Men’s Fitness mag.

I actually bought this the first day it came, and was intending to post this, but Zane beat me to it.

Great easy and light read, and some inspirational sections, in particular the NO EXCUSES! part.

Adam, book should be on your desk, at least I’m assuming that’s where Scott left it.  If it’s missing, blame him!
